Building the Future: JTM's Approach to Technology in Construction
As we step deeper into 2025, JTM is leading the charge in construction technology, creating powerful interconnected systems that work together to build smarter, faster, and more transparently.
The Evolving AEC Industry
The Architecture, Engineering, and Construction industry is rapidly transforming, with digital tools becoming essential rather than optional. Today's trends point toward integrated platforms, real-time collaboration, data-rich decision making, and seamless field-to-office connectivity.
Integrated Platforms
Connected systems that share data across the project lifecycle
Real-time Collaboration
Instant communication and coordination between all stakeholders
Data-Driven Decisions
Using analytics to improve project outcomes and efficiency
Field Connectivity
Bridging the gap between office planning and on-site execution
The Interoperability Challenge
Despite technological advances, the biggest hurdle in construction technology remains interoperability—getting powerful tools to work together in a seamless ecosystem. Many firms still struggle with siloed data and incompatible platforms.
The Problem: Siloed Systems
Disconnected tools create friction, duplicate work, and increase the risk of errors as information gets trapped in separate platforms.
The Solution: Connected Ecosystems
JTM prioritizes tools that communicate with each other, creating a unified flow of information from design through construction and delivery.
The Result: Seamless Collaboration
When systems work together, teams work better—leading to fewer errors, faster completion, and better project outcomes.

1200 Stewart: 747 case study
The Task
Our 1200 Stewart project team has taken on the significant challenge of installing a Boeing 747-400 fuselage in a galleria space between two buildings. Supported by a steel superstructure, the aircraft will serve as both a bar and a skybridge. To enable transportation, the plane was cut into multiple segments and shipped by truck from Victorville, California, to Seattle, Washington, where it will be reassembled and mounted.
Survey / VDC Support
Our goal was to scan each individual plane segment to aid with planning and coordination before installation.
The Process
A small team, including one of our surveyors, traveled to Victorville, California, to scan the plane segments. Using a Leica RTC 360 laser scanner, they completed roughly 20 hours of scanning. The collected scan data was then processed and aligned to digitally reassemble the fuselage. This provided highly accurate and detailed information about each segment.
Our VDC team then integrated the scanned plane data into the site model. This allowed us to coordinate and visualize how the aircraft would fit into the steel superstructure, identify potential conflicts, and determine necessary modifications before the segments arrive on site.
The Result
By scanning and coordinating the plane segments in advance, we equipped our project team with the critical information needed to ensure a successful and efficient installation.
